At one point Christian Wilkins Miami Dolphins Jerseys , it seemed like a Magic 8 Ball was needed to determine whether replay review of a call or non-call of pass interference would result in the ruling on the field being upheld or reversed. It now appears that a Magic 8 Ball is needed to determine the standard that will apply. The bar has moved up and down throughout the regular season. At some point between late August and Week One, someone apparently told senior V.P. of officiating Al Riveron to apply a more rigorous standard to overturning rulings on the field than the more literal test he intended to use. At some point in recent weeks, someone apparently has told Riveron to soften the standard.Of course, that’s not how Riveron tells it.“It is not being applied any differently than it was at the beginning of the year,” Riveron told a pool reporter after Sunday’s controversial decision to drop a flag for defensive pass interference under circumstances that essentially determined the outcome of the Dolphins-Jets game. That technically may be accurate, if “beginning of the year” means “the preseason.” But the reality is that the standard was applied one way (the literal way) at first, another way (encompassing only egregious fouls) for a while, and a third way (the first way) more recently. The numbers back it up. Via Mike Reiss of ESPN.com, pass interference challenges initiated by coaches in the first two weeks resulted in three of 12 prevailing. For Week Three through Week 10, only two of 41 prevailed. Since Week 11, four of 15 challenges resulted in a reversal.“I don’t look at it by numbers and we don’t look at it by numbers here,” Riveron said. “We treat each one individually. That’s how we officiate the play on the field or review the play, for lack of a better term. If the numbers show one thing Christian Wilkins white jersey , we really don’t concern ourselves where we are that week, that month or that game. Again, we basically look at each ruling, at each call, at each play on an individual basis and then we apply the rule.”The truth continues to be that, for weeks, Riveron did not overturn non-calls for pass interference when it seemed to be clear and obvious that the defensive player significantly hindered the receiver. When he does so now, he explains it by saying that the evidence of hindrance is clear and obvious, without reconciling that decision with other plays that should have triggered the same result. The good news, if there is any, is that Riveron finally seems to be applying the standard as intended, with the postseason approaching. If he hadn’t adjusted his approach before the playoffs but then immediately did so at the start of the wild-card round, it would have been too glaring. By sliding the bar back down to its intended level before the single-elimination round Christian Wilkins Jersey Womens , it won’t be nearly as jarring if/when the standard is applied as originally intended in January.Of course, that will provide little comfort to teams that lost regular season games due to the higher standard. If the standard had been applied in a consistent manner all year long, the final standings may have been quite different. And that’s the biggest problem with changing the standard on the fly. It undermines the integrity of the 256-game regular season, and it potentially results in a playoff tree that would have looked far different if a call or two or more had been resolved the other way and if, in turn, a game or two or more had a different outcome. DAVIE, Fla. (AP) — Adam Gase says the Miami Dolphins‘ run defense will be better than last year. The preseason says otherwise.Miami has allowed 299 yards rushing in the first two exhibition games. That includes 226 yards Friday at Carolina, and 71 on one play — a touchdown run by Christian McCaffrey on the second snap of the night. The leaky ground defense is especially worrisome because the same problem contributed greatly to a 6-10 finish in 2017. The Dolphins gave up over 170 yards rushing three times during a five-game losing streak that sent the season south.Despite evidence to the contrary, Gase says his run defense is improved.“I can see how it’s starting to come together,” he said Sunday.“Clean up some of the mistakes, and we’ll be all right,” middle linebacker Raekwon McMillan said. The front seven is still adjusting to the loss of five-time Pro Bowl tackle Ndamukong Suh, who was cut when his enormous contract became too burdensome. Last week the Dolphins signaled they’re struggling to replace Suh when they signed veteran Kendall Langford Christian Wilkins Jersey Cheap , who had been out of the NFL since early November.Langford was rushed into action at Carolina. He played 18 snaps, made no assignment mistakes and is in excellent shape, Gase said.Langford joins a group of tackles that also includes veteran newcomer Akeem Spence, perennial underachiever Jordan Phillips and two players taken on the final day of the 2017 draft, Davon Godchaux and Vincent Taylor. New defensive line coach Kris Kocurek plans a heavy rotation to keep everyone fresh. The defensive lineman making the biggest impact so far is former Pro Bowl end Robert Quinn, an offseason acquisition who had two sacks at Carolina. He had 19 sacks with the Rams in 2013.“Hopefully I can get back to those good numbers,” Quinn said. “That’s kind of my mindset — to break records and do something extreme.”Overall, Gase said, the remaking of the front four is on schedule.“I like where our d-line is,” the coach said. “We’ve just got to make sure we do a better job of fitting the runs right, but they’re attacking.”There are fresh faces at linebacker, too, and both are youngsters from Ohio State. McMillan is starting in the middle after missing all of his rookie season in 2017 because of a knee injury. Rookie Jerome Baker Miami Dolphins Jerseys 2019 , a third-round pick, is the front-runner to start on the outside opposite veteran Kiko Alonso.McMillan and Baker are two big reasons Gase remains optimistic about the direction of the run defense.“We’ll get those guys up to speed,” Gase said. “They’ll be doing it right once we hit the first week. We have athletic guys in that second level. We’ll give them opportunities to make plays, and they’ll make them.”McMillan and Baker were nowhere to be found on McCaffrey’s long run, however, and defensive backs Bobby McCain and T.J. McDonald took bad angles.“We had two guys get too aggressive in the secondary,” Gase said.Such mistakes are correctable, the coach said. He has less than three weeks to fix them.

THOUSAND OAKS — What impressed second-year Rams coach Sean McVay the most when he met free-agent Ndamukong Suh?His career starts. In 126 games played in Suh’s soon-to-be 9-year NFL career Albert Wilson Jersey , the veteran defensive tackle has started all 126.“Being able to add a player of his caliber is something we feel really good about,” McVay said on Friday. “He’s the epitome of durability, over 50-career sacks.”Suh joins an already-talented defensive line featuring 2017 Defensive Player of the Year Aaron Donald and Michael Brockers. And the 6-foot-4, 305-pound veteran is ready to put in work.“We’re in pretty good shape on paper, but we have a lot of things to improve on, really myself I always play with a chip on a shoulder and that’s kinda my focus is to come in here and put in a lot of work and make sure I prove my worth,” said Suh on Friday during his introductory press conference.Suh, the second overall pick in the 2010 draft, spent four seasons in Detroit before wrapping up a three-year stint in Miami. He’s posted 419 tackles Robert Quinn Jersey , 51.5 sacks and four forced fumbles. On Thursday, the Rams introduced their other new player, WR Brandin Cooks, who comes over from New England. Rebilas-USA TODAY SportsIf you’re as passionate as me when it comes to your hatred for the New England Patriots, then it’s safe to say that last night was rough. I was hoping the Rams could pull off an upset, but we didn’t get that lucky DolFans. It’s alright though, because now we can officially begin our 2019 season. We will finally have a head coach! The Miami Dolphins will hold a press conference today at 4pm to introduce Brian Flores as our new head coach. I know I’m going to be taking a break from work to follow along on Twitter. If you’re not excited about our new hire it’s fine. However, that being said T.J. McDonald Jersey , it’s about time to get over it because it’s happening. Let me just say, after watching a defensive lead Super Bowl last night, I’m excited to see what Flores can do with our team. Do we know if he will turn out to be a great coach? Nope. Nobody really knows until you give them a chance. So maybe let’s be hopeful about it. Adam Beasley tweeted this out earlier today. I think our fan base, as a whole, should show nothing but support for Flores. Let’s see if he truly was the genius behind the Patriots’ defense. Like I told a fellow fan on twitter, you can be hopeful and optimistic or continue to complain and be miserable. Last night was miserable enough, and listening to the media discuss Brady all week will definitely be enough for me to try and look forward to something. That something is watching our Dolphins hire a new coaching staff and have faith Grier made the right decision. Coaching Hire Tweets and Flores PraiseThere have been several tweets this morning discussing the new potential coaching staff under Flores. I’m personally just waiting to see when it’s all official but here are some of the tweets I saw this morning related to coaching and brags about Flores. Well, he’s got a point there. It seems many teams are hoping they find their “Sean McVay” but I’m not too upset with our hire. Here’s another Flores related tweet. I mean, I kinda agree with him. Now Jerome Baker Jersey , GMFB, I do like you guys and I’m excited about our new coach, but still not supporting the fact the Patriots won. Let’s just be clear on that.See, these are some reasons to try to remain hopeful you guys. Because, let’s be honest, it’s all we have right now. In Flores we trust. In Flores we trust. If you repeat that several times out loud, you start to believe it. Here is a tweet as well about another coach possibly coming to join us from the Patriots. I’m not sure who he is, but according to this tweet, he has done good things. We shall see Andrew Van Ginkel Miami Dolphins Jerseys , if he is indeed hired. I guess we shall see. Also, one other tidbit I saw about potential coaching. Like I said, nothing is official yet until after Flores is announced at 4pm today. I’m excited to see what unfolds over the next several days. The Super Bowl and other Dolphins Related News If you missed the Super Bowl, no worries. The half-time performance was probably one of the worst in history and overall the commercials were okay. There was one that stood out as the best though. Here you go for those that may have missed it. Those aqua jackets tho....That pretty much summed up the best moment of the Super Bowl. You’re welcome. A do want to congratulate the Miami Dolphins for winning the Bridgestone Clutch Performance Play of the year. Here is Drake’s speech from the NFL Honors Awards show. Two class acts right there representing the Miami Dolphins. Oh, and just because it was that amazing (no matter if Brady stated he doesn’t consider that game a loss and the two Patriots’ fans who went through my December Facebook posts this morning mocking our team...stay classy Pat’s fans) here is the Miami Miracle one more time. This will never get old. Our season didn’t turn out so great, but we had some amazing moments and made NFL History and I was part of it. Nobody, and I mean nobody, will ever convince me that play meant nothing. You did indeed lose that game Brady. You’ve probably already seen the news about Tannehill, but reports are they plan to move on from him. I will be a bit sad when that does happen. I know he is not our future Miami Dolphins Jerseys 2019 , but he did work hard for our team and had some horrific coaching and just overall bad luck during this time with us. A part of me wishes he could stay one more year till we draft a quarterback in 2020 because not sure who will be our starter next year if Flores doesn’t like any quarterbacks from this upcoming draft. But, that’s probably not happening and I’m going to have faith in our Grier and Flores that they will make the right decisions.Final ThoughtsI’m happy the Super Bowl has come and gone. Atlanta can get back to normal again and we can all enjoy the short break from football. Miami is now the next host for the next Super Bowl. If you missed the hype video tweeted out today, here you go. The next few weeks will a bit boring (news wise) but we at least can follow along as the Miami Dolphins start to build their new coaching staff. Other than that, we have the NFL Scouting Combine on Feb. 26, the franchise-tag deadline on March 5and free agency in March as well. I’m not expecting too much to happen during that time, but who knows. I am excited to see what happens in the upcoming draft in April. Be ready to have your Twitter feed be filled with nothing but mock drafts. Definitely won’t be getting any from me, but it is interesting to see what everyone believes will happen. Since the next few weeks will be slow, what are some topics you all want from me? I’m thinking some positive/fun topics would be interesting. Let me know in the comments. I’d really appreciate any feedback.Hope you all tune in this afternoon and let’s welcome our new coach Brian Flores.Fins Up!

LOS ANGELES (AP) — The Los Angeles Rams have added three coaches to their staff http://www.theramslockerroom.com/authentic-john-kelly-jersey , including the son of defensive coordinator Wade Phillips.Wes Phillips will join the Rams as tight ends coach. The younger Phillips had spent the past five seasons with Washington, where he worked with Rams coach Sean McVay from 2014-16.Passing game coordinator Shane Waldron had coached tight ends the past two seasons but will take over quarterbacks after Zac Taylor was hired as Cincinnati’s head coach.Zac Robinson has been hired as assistant quarterbacks coach. Robinson, who spent time with New England, Seattle, Detroit and Cincinnati from 2010-14, comes to the Rams after being an analyst for Pro Football Focus.Eric Henderson will coach the defensive line after spending the past two seasons as an assistant D-line coach for the Los Angeles Chargers. Henderson played three seasons for the Bengals (2006-08). He replaces Bill Johnson, who was not retained. ATLANTA (AP) — Matthew Slater is more than halfway to his father’s longevity as an NFL player. He doesn’t plan to equal it.The star special teamer of the New England Patriots just completed his 11th pro season, and he’s at his fifth Super Bowl, with two wins. In his dad Jackie’s 20-season NFL career Womens Troy Hill Jersey , he made one Super Bowl — coincidentally, with the Rams in 1980 — and lost to Pittsburgh.“That’s a long time to do anything,” Matthew Slater said Tuesday. As for the New England kick coverage ace lasting so long, he added with a laugh: “Absolutely not.”Of course, when your team becomes a regular visitor to the Super Bowl, it lengthens the season by more than a month. No one in the NFL would want to pass on that, but in reality Slater has played nearly 12 seasons, making All-Pro in 2016 and being voted to seven Pro Bowls. Not bad for someone whose Hall of Fame father didn’t necessarily want Matthew to play football.“He felt that way for two reasons,” Matthew Slater says. “First Robert Woods Jersey , he didn’t want me to feel the pressure of living up to his name. He thought the expectations could be unfair.“He also wanted me to avoid injury. He knew the toll it takes on you physically.”Matthew and his brother played plenty of sports, and guess who usually was the coach. Yep, Jackie.“Sports have always been a big part of my life and have so many life lessons from being on a team, and the disciplines of preparing to compete and how you compete, and having teammates around you. I thought they were good lessons to learn,” Jackie Slater said.“I discouraged them to play football. I didn’t think (Matthew) would be big enough to play football. I coached in basketball, soccer, track and field, even some flag football. I didn’t see football as something that he would excel. But when he played flag http://www.theramslockerroom.com/authentic-andrew-whitworth-jersey , he had good speed and he caught the ball and ran well.”Matthew kept improving in high school and grew, though not to Jackie’s offensive tackle measurements. Because Jackie was unfamiliar with the kind of skills his son possessed, he turned to teammates Ron Brown — a 1984 Olympic champion speedster, who played wideout and returned kicks — and outstanding cornerback LeRoy Irvin. Brown refined Matthew’s technique and speed, and Irvin worked with him on back-pedaling and breaks for receivers.“Things I was not familiar with,” says Jackie, who recalled watching Matthew leave everyone behind in a 100-meter race, only to have Brown say “he did everything wrong.“I knew I needed to get out of the way.”Not really. Matthew, now 33 Womens John Johnson Jersey , credits pretty much everything he has achieved in football to his father, who entered the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2001.“He made every effort to be present,” the son says. “That’s what I appreciate the most: He was a father first. So many young kids … many black kids … I see they don’t have a presence like that.“Anytime I have success, certainly my dad is sharing in it. It all goes back to my dad; I wouldn’t be playing this game without him. It’s pretty unique, a son being able to do something his dad did. We are enjoying this ride together.”For sure. But on Sunday, well, Jackie admits to being a bit torn when the Rams — his team — take on the Patriots — Matthew’s team. You see, Jackie Slater still has plenty of millennium blue and new century gold running through his veins.“This is a win-win situation for me,” the elder Slater notes. “If my son loses Josh Reynolds Jersey , it’s not as if he hasn’t experienced the thrill of victory in a Super Bowl, something I never did. And if he loses, it hurts, but he has a great attitude about it. It helps me live with the defeats he has.“If the Rams win, I will be happy because I have been pulling for this team for more than 40 years. My first hero in the game was Tom Mack, who I actually played with for three years.“You know, he has an unbelievable opportunity to experience things I never did. I don’t know what it is like to win the Super Bowl beyond the joy my son had when he won on two occasions. That’s almost as good as me winning, I felt.”

Andy Reid talked for the first time since reports surfaced 11 days ago that authorities were investigating receiver Tyreek Hill for two instances of child abuse. The Chiefs coach said he has not talked to Hill since on the advice of the Chiefs’ counsel. The Chiefs moved quickly in November to cut Kareem Hunt after a video discredited the running back’s claim to the team that he had no involvement in an altercation with a woman at a Cleveland hotel earlier in the year. The team is patiently waiting for more information on Hill’s situation.“If we’re going to make a move like [cutting Hunt] Womens Sammy Watkins Jersey , it’s pretty well thought out, and so we try to gather the information and then go from there,” Reid said.More than once, Reid said he knew nothing new on Hill’s situation and that the team was “just letting it take its course.”“Did I expect it to happen? I don’t know what happened exactly,” Reid said. “I mean, I don’t know. That’s what we’re trying to figure out.”The Chiefs have had internal discussions about various courses of action they will take based on the outcome of the investigation.“You always want to make sure everybody’s OK, and then let it run its course and make sure you let that part happen,” Reid said. “. . .As a coach, or a human Jordan Lucas Jersey , you’re going to have things that happen. You deal with it.” During the 30-6 defeat of the Denver Broncos in Week 7, Kansas City Chiefs fans were (somewhat unexpectedly) treated to one of the best defensive performances the team has had since the 2013 season, when the Chiefs held opponents to historically-low scoring during the first half of the season. So when defensive coordinator Steve Spagnuolo met with the media on Thursday, many of the questions centered on what had changed.Spagnuolo noted that the Broncos ran a different running scheme than the team had faced in its previous two outings, but he credited the “edge” his defensive players had brought to the game.“Guys have got a lot of pride and weren’t too happy about the previous two games,” he explained. “The edge and the attitude I thought was right. [We] had a little early success and it continued on through. I would have really liked it if on that first third-down play, we didn’t get a face mask; we would have been off the field and saved ourselves some legs. But sometimes that happens.”Photo by Dustin Bradford/Getty ImagesIn fact, without the facemask penalty on Frank Clark during the Broncos’ first drive — or the later holding call against Bashaud Breeland — it’s possible the Chiefs defense could have shut out an opponent for the first time since 2011.“It’s encouraging,” said Spagnuolo Jordan Lucas Jersey , “but we’re not going to rest on our laurels from one game. We’ve got a long way to go. [Green Bay has] a different running attack — a different challenge — with a quarterback [who] adds some problems. We’ve got to do the same thing again.”Spagnuolo was asked if he thought his players would be able to sustain the attitude and edge they displayed against the Broncos.”I’m hoping it sustains a long way,” he replied. “The only comment I made to our guys was that our hope is this: when this thing is all done, that’s not the best game we’ve played. That would be the hope. Hopefully, the guys will embrace that.”Safety Tyrann Mathieu said that with Patrick Mahomes out, the defense needs to be ready to take the lead.“I’ve mentioned it, especially [after] those two losses, it felt like it was our time for the defense to step up,” he said. “We’re quite aware of what’s going on around us. I’m grateful that we’re rolling into where everyone can see our progression as a defense. We just have to control what we can control no matter where the ball is on the field. No matter the situation, our job is to play defense and that’s what we’re going to try to do.”But Spagnuolo said that it was more than just the defense’s emotional state that made a difference in Denver.During the two-game losing streak Laurent Duvernay-Tardif Jersey , the defensive coordinator had spoken with pride about the third-down packages his coaches had assembled — and his frustration about not being able to make use of them.“It comes back to coaches [doing] a great job getting guys in the right spots in the right situations,” he told reporters on Thursday.“The thing that was encouraging in this last game was that we actually got into enough third downs. The prior two games, there were a lot of first and second downs — and that’s the result of not playing good run defense. If you play good run defense, you can put yourself in those situations and get some packages out on the field. So we’re looking to try to do the same thing.”Isaiah J. Downing-USA TODAY SportsBut dominating Joe Flacco’s offense is one thing. The Chiefs defense is well aware that doing the same thing against Aaron Rodgers is quite another.“This week presents a bigger challenge with Aaron Rodgers and all the throws he can make,” said Mathieu. “He has a lot of young guys around him and you can tell those guys are hungry and really just happy to be out there playing.”But Mathieu noted that Rodgers has a tendency that is both an advantage and disadvantage.“If you watch him on tape he holds that ball quite a bit,” he said. “I think he enjoys the camera on him and he enjoys those deep shots down the field. That’s going to be a challenge for us.”“I mean, he’s got eyes all over his head,” said Spagnuolo. “He’s still athletic — been doing it for a long time. He extends the down. You’re right: from snap to when the ball is thrown is as long as anybody in the league, but I think he’s always looking to make a really big play -- which he does a lot; he chucks the ball downfield.”Against Rodgers Terrance Smith Jersey , Spagnuolo said that the one-on-one matchups will be critical.“I think it’s important to win your one-on-one’s up front, make sure that the guys on the back end win their one-on-one’s and try to make it tough for number 12. He gets the last say on every play — and he is really good at it. He can change it. He knows how to get out of a bad play.”Mathieu said that in the secondary, it would come down to winning on both ends of the route.“The first phase of the route, can we disrupt the timing? And from there [through] the second phase, can we finish it the play? He’s going to extend some plays, he’s going to make some plays Sunday night; he’s Aaron Rodgers. The biggest thing I mentioned is just limiting the explosive plays. [If we do that,] we’ll put ourselves in a position to play some good defense Sunday.”

The New England Patriots’ season is over before the Divisional Round has even started. This is the first time that the Patriots haven’t played during the second week of the playoffs since 2009 White Jason McCourty Jerseys , which means there are some 10 year-olds out there wondering what human beings do on the third weekend of January every year.My first year writing for Pats Pulpit was 2011, and they won the Super Bowl in 2014, 2016, and 2018. That means that for six of the nine years I’ve been part of the staff, my final Coping With Loss article has come when the Pats get bounced from the playoffs. These are always the toughest pills to swallow for a lot of you.As for me, I’m completely fine with this loss, to be honest. The Patriots deserved to lose. And it’s going to be an incredibly interesting offseason, for a whole bunch of reasons. But now isn’t the time to get to all that. Let me help those of you who still might be hurting. Here are five things that will hopefully take the sting of this latest loss off a little bit.New England won it last year. Contrary to popular belief, the New England Patriots aren’t guaranteed to win the Super Bowl every year. The media narrative will tell you otherwise, but getting to the Super Bowl is an extremely difficult thing to do, and the Pats aren’t going to always be in it. And since they literally just won the Super Bowl last year, you’ll forgive me if I’m not too broken up over not winning it all again this year. Especially since...This wasn’t our year. I don’t think this playoff exit comes as a surprise to anybody who has been watching this team over this past season. New England beat up on bad teams, couldn’t move the ball against decent teams, and got spanked by good teams. They never found their groove offensively and opposing offenses figured out how to beat the defense as the playoffs loomed. Those are both surefire recipes for a playoff exit, and that’s what happened here. I personally thought they’d beat Tennessee and then get smoked by the Chiefs next week, but oh well. Not shocked in the slightest that 2019 didn’t end with a seventh Lombardi trophy.Better to lose now than later. Even if the Patriots had won on Saturday and managed to somehow beat the Chiefs in KC, there was just no way that they were going to go to Baltimore and win based on the way that Derrick Henry ran on Saturday. Both Lamar Jackson and Mark Ingram are beasts, and if the Patriots can’t stop one rusher, there’s no way they’re stopping both of them. So I’d rather lose now than later on. Now New England gets a better draft pick. Plus...Now I can actually enjoy the playoffs. I honestly can’t remember the last time I got to just relax and watch the postseason from the Divisional round on as a casual observer. My January has consisted of either the Patriots making a run or me rooting against some kind of New England rival for more or less the entire 21st century. It’s been Tom Brady, Peyton Manning Jason McCourty Jerseys 2019 , or Ben Roethlisberger almost every single year, and it has been exhausting. I know that I for one am really looking forward to just chilling out for the rest of the month and enjoying some amazing matchups. How exciting is the Derrick Henry vs. Baltimore matchup going to be? And we’ve all been clamoring for a Mahomes vs. Jackson matchup...we might finally get that now. And I have absolutely no rooting interest in any team whatsoever. Couldn’t care less who wins or loses. Just want to see some good games and enjoy it. What a refreshing change of pace that is for me, and I’m honestly looking forward to the break.Tommy B will be back now. Get ready for a long, long, long, looooooooong offseason of “what does the future hold for Tom Brady?” talks... but at the end of it will, in this idiot’s opinion, be another year of one Thomas Edward Patrick Brady suiting up for the Patriots. Maybe I’m being shortsighted here, but I just can’t see Brady’s last ever game at Gillette Stadium being an early playoff exit and a pick-six. Feel free to copy and paste this comment in a few months if Brady retires or goes to play somewhere else, but I just feel like he’s too much of a maniac to go out like that. I’d love to see one more year of Brady, and I think we’ll get that now.So chin up, guys. It’s been an absolutely insane run... and it might not be over just yet. Teams that draft with a plan beyond immediate needs give themselves potential paths towards addressing future roster holes. The New England Patriots are, as we have seen over the past two decades, a great organization. Take, for example, their approach to the offensive tackle position this offseason. With Trent Brown on his way to the Oakland Raiders and LaAdrian Waddle moving to the Buffalo Bills, the Patriots drafted Yodny Cajuste in the third round, signed Jared Veldheer, and of course return Isaiah Wynn White Adrian Clayborn Jerseys , one of their two first round selections a year ago. Multiple ways to approach a position of need. Their mindset was again on display this past draft when they selected interior offensive lineman Hjalte Froholdt from the University of Arkansas.Right now, the Patriots have one of the league’s best trio of interior offensive lineman, with center David Andrews, right guard Shaq Mason and left guard Joe Thuney. However, that might not be the case past the 2019 season. While Mason is under contract through the 2023 season and Andrews is under contract through 2020, Thuney is set to hit the market as an unrestricted free agent at the end of the 2019 campaign. While some other guards will also hit the market, such as Clint Boling and Brandon Scherff, odds are Thuney will command a contract well above his current deal, with an average annual value of just above $800K. While the Patriots may look to re-sign Thuney, should an agreement fail to materialize the organization might have a big hole to fill at the left guard spot. With the selection of Froholdt, they have given themselves one potential option. The Danish-born interior offensive lineman was not considered one of the top-flight guards in the 2019 draft class, but similar to the film study piece on Jarrett Stidham, watching Froholdt against top competition is a window into how the Patriots likely view the prospect. Specifically, his game against Alabama from this past season. For most of that contest, the new Patriot was matched up against Quinnen Williams, the third overall selection in the draft. Pick number 118 had a pretty good run of things. Here are some of the traits that stood out watching Froholdt in this contest.Handling the Stunt GameWatching Froholdt in this contest, you can see an intelligent offensive lineman with a very good understanding of protections, twists, and how to handle games up front from the defensive line. Take this first example. Alabama leaves Froholdt (#51) uncovered at the snap, with Williams (#92) head up on the center Adrian Clayborn Jerseys 2019 , a defender head up on the left tackle and an outside linebacker showing pressure as well:The OLB comes after the quarterback, and in addition the Crimson Tide use a nose/tackle or “NUT” stunt, with the tackle looping to the inside and Williams coming behind him, attacking between the tackle and the guard:Froholdt, however, does a great job of scanning and identifying the stunt, and then anchoring against Williams and preventing the Outland Trophy winner from generating pressure:Here is another example of Froholdt identifying a twist and handling his business. On this example, the defense uses a tackle/end or “TEX” stunt:This time the defensive tackle starts upfield, and the outside linebacker loops to the inside. The defense is trying to get Froholdt to commit to the tackle, so the OLB can behind him into a vacated spot and attack the pocket. Froholdt, however, is not fooled:He tracks the OLB as he cuts inside and stops him in his tracks, driving him into the center where he gets some help. For good measure, Froholdt then peels off and finds some work, walling off the DT as he tries to work back inside towards the QB.The Razorbacks got into the end zone on a red zone passing play, and Froholdt was a big reason why. On this snap you can see the incoming Patriot point out some defensive alignments pre-snap (you can see him doing this on a number of plays) and he handles another TEX stunt. His work here gives his quarterback time to identify the route in the back of the end zone:Williams was held in this game to just four assisted tackles, one tackle for a loss and a half a sack. The lone TFL came when Froholdt was sitting out a series, and the half sack came on this interior stunt:As you can see, Froholdt identifies the twist and slides over to take the nose tackle, expecting the center to peel off and handle the looping defender. But when that does not happen White Jeremy Hill Jerseys , Froholdt tries at the end to scrape off the nose tackle (occupied by the center) and handle the defensive tackle. But he cannot get there in time (and Williams gets past the center) and it leads to a turnover. Footwork and Athleticism Reading pre-draft reports on Froholdt would leave you with the impression that his athleticism and footwork are among his strengths as an offensive lineman, and the tape from his game against Alabama matches that assessment. The Razorbacks were not afraid to use him as a pulling guard on their pin/pull designs, and his execution on those plays as a lead blocker sprung a few big runs for Arkansas. On this snap, the Razorbacks run a pin and pull play to the left edge out of the pistol formation. Both the tight end and the left tackle block down (the “pin”) which enables Froholdt and the center to pull to the edge:Froholdt gets to the edge and is responsible for strong safety Xavier McKinney (#15). He kinda throws him out of the club:You see the footwork and the path he takes to the point of contact, and both are spot on. Here is the same design from the Razorbacks from later in the game. This time Froholdt is responsible for cornerback Patrick Surtain Jr. (#2). When a pulling guard gets the chance to take on a CB in space, they need to deliver, and Froholdt does deliver….Surtain to the Arkansas bench:In terms of lateral quickness and footwork, this outside zone play is a great example of what Froholdt brings to the table. The Razorbacks run outside zone to the right side on this play, and as you can see Williams is aligned to the inside of Froholdt presnap:This tasks Froholdt with making a difficult “reach” block, where he will need to somehow get across Williams’s face and seal him off on the backside. With some quick feet at the start of the play, Froholdt is able to do his job:Froholdt’s first two steps here are perfect. He widens at the start with his right foot, getting himself into position to cross Williams’s face. Then his left foot gets himself to a good angle of attack, and he makes this step right in time with his initial push and contact. Impressive quickness and execution enables him to seal off the defender on the backside of this stretch zone play. Upper Body StrengthWhile this was one of the weaknesses identified in many pre-draft reports on Froholdt, the Alabama game does have some examples of the guard winning at the point of attack thanks to upper body power. On this play, for example, the Razorbacks run QB power right behind Froholdt - and right at Williams - and while Froholdt has the alignment advantage presnap he is able to finish the play with his upper body:Once Froholdt anchors here, he uses his arms and chest to twist Williams back and away from the hole, creating just enough of a crease for his QB. In addition, he keeps his hands inside the frame once engaged, avoiding the holding penalty. Similarly Jeremy Hill Jerseys 2019 , on this counter play Williams again has inside leverage against Froholdt pre-snap:Froholdt uses that to his advantage, dropping the anchor and then relying on his upper body to maintain control of Williams at the point of attack. Between his block and the effort from the puller, the Razorback offensive line creates the crease for the RB:While the new Patriot had the leverage advantage on both of these plays before the snap, he was able to anchor and then control Williams through the whistle thanks to his upper body strength.Few incoming rookies are perfect, and Froholdt is no exception. There will be areas of his game that he needs to clean up, such as hand usage, blocking angles to the second level, and protecting his outside edge at times, but that is the beauty of New England’s approach. Given the proficiency of the Patriots’ current interior offensive line, odds are that Froholdt will get a year of development under Dante Scarnecchia before he is truly counted upon as a critical component of the offensive line. Then, should Thuney leave for greener pastures at the end of the 2019 campaign, they will have some options available to them. If, after a year of developing him, the organization feels Froholdt can step into that spot, they already have the replacement on the roster. If not, they can again look to a combination of the free agency market and the 2020 draft to find a replacement. By drafting Froholdt now and getting him in the system, they give themselves a number of options down the road.As smart teams do.Whether Froholdt ultimately steps into that role remains to be seen. But judging by his tape against Alabama - and elite competition - there are some solid building blocks in place for Scarnecchia to work with.

With a number of their own linebackers injured Antonio Brown Raiders Jersey , the Oakland Raiders are adding some reinforcements to the group.According to Lindsey Thiry and Paul Gutierrez of ESPN.com, the Raiders are signing Dakota Allen off the Los Angeles Rams practice squad and promoting Justin Phillips from their own practice squad.Vontaze Burfict left Sunday’s game against the Minnesota Vikings with an elbow injury while Nick Morrow and Marquel Lee are both dealing with ankle injuries. That left Tahir Whitehead and Kyle Wilbur as the only healthy linebackers on the team’s 53-man roster.Phillips is the only linebacker on Oakland’s practice squad, leading them to look elsewhere for a second player to add to the group. Phillips, a rookie out of Oklahoma State Womens Antonio Brown Jersey , recorded 29 tackles and an interception during the preseason with the Dallas Cowboys.Allen, a seventh-round pick out of Texas Tech this spring, had 22 tackles and a pass defended in four preseason games with the Rams. Wendesday brought some concerning injury news for the Raiders. They already had Tyrell Williams and not much else at wide receiver, so to lose him would be a pretty big deal.Williams has had a touchdown in each of the team’s first four games this season. After him the receiving corps scares no one. Well Antonio Brown Jersey White , no one outside the organization. JJ Nelson was supposed to start last week and was a surprising late scratch with tightness in his leg. He was limited Wednesday with a knee injury. Nelson’s absence on Sunday against the Colts had the team starting recent trade acquisition Trevor Davis nine days after he signed with the team, though Davis didn’t catch a pass in the game and has just nine career catches. After that it’s rookies Hunter Renfrow and Keelan Doss.Dwayne Harris returned to practice Wednesday after missing the past two games with an ankle injury. He is mainly a return specialist who is rarely used as a wide receiver, but the Raiders may not have a choice. If he’s able to go, they could end up needing him in the offense. As for the defense Bo Jackson Jersey White , they were missing rookie top pick Clelin Ferrell on Wednesday due to a concussion. After a big win over New England last week Jadeveon Clowney Jersey , the Houston Texans had a chance to pad their lead in the AFC South with a win over the Denver Broncos on Sunday.Instead they came out flat in a terrible first half and the Broncos rolled to a 38-24 victory. Tennessee (8-5) then beat Oakland later Sunday to leave Houston tied with the Titans for the division lead."I don't think there was anything very good," coach Bill O'Brien said. "I take full responsibility for that. Just did not have this team ready to play. I thought I did, but I thought wrong."Denver's Drew Lock threw for 309 yards and three touchdowns, Kareem Jackson had an interception and returned a fumble 70 yards for a touchdown against his former team as the Broncos built a huge lead and coasted to the victory.Lock, who made his NFL debut in a win over the Chargers last week, threw for 235 yards with three TDs in the first half. The Broncos (5-8) scored on their first five possessions to build a 38-3 lead early in the third quarter."If you get down 14-0 and then you can't stop them, you can't get things going on offense, you're driving the ball but it bogs down and you can't score, you're going to be in for a long day Greg Mancz Jersey White ," O'Brien said. "And that's what happened. I thought our guys came out in the second half and tried to fight, but we gave up too many points in the first half.Deshaun Watson threw for 292 yards with one TD pass and two interceptions after throwing three touchdown passes and grabbing his first career TD reception in a stellar performance against New England."We turned the ball over," Watson said. "We didn't capitalize on fourth down. That was pretty much it. We were moving the ball .. it wasn't anything we didn't do. We just didn't execute."The Texans (8-5) looked great last week as they jumped out to a big lead early and held on for a 28-22 victory over the Patriots for their first win in the series since 2010.This week they struggled to do anything right before halftime. The Broncos took an early lead when Lock threw a 14-yard touchdown pass to Noah Fant with about 7 1/2 minutes left in the first quarter.Keke Coutee, inactive for the past two games despite being healthy, grabbed an 8-yard reception on Houston's next drive but fumbled. Jeremiah Attaochu picked up the ball and handed it off to Jackson, who dashed 70 yards for the score against the team where he spent the past nine seasons. The Texans still have both meetings against the Titans remaining starting with a trip to Nashville next week."It's a little bit deflating," safety Justin Reid said. "The best thing we can do is flip the page and learn from it. We've got the Titans next week, basically for the division. That's the best thing that we can look forward to."Left tackle Laremy Tunsil, whom the Texans traded for in August to upgrade their porous line Joel Heath Jersey , had three false starts on Sunday to give him an NFL-leading 12 this season. He said he's got to fix the problem and that he talked to an official about why he kept getting whistled for it on Sunday."He said I was leaving early," Tunsil said. "(I have a) target on my back."Denver pushed the lead to 21-0 in the second quarter when Lock connected with Jeff Heuerman on an 8-yard pass. Lock had completions of 37 and 25 yards on that drive. The Texans went for it on fourth-and-1 from their 34 with two minutes left in the first half and Watson's pass was tipped at the line and fell incomplete to give the Broncos a short field. They took at advantage when Royce Freeman caught a 3-yard touchdown pass to make it 31-3 at halftime. Houston's Lonnie Johnson had two defensive holding penalties on that drive.Phillip Lindsay pushed Denver's lead to 38-3 with a 1-yard run early in the third quarter.DeAndre Hopkins gave the Texans their first touchdown on a 43-yard reception on their first drive of the second half.Tashaun Gipson intercepted Lock near the goal line on Denver's next drive and returned it 26 yards. The Texans made it 38-17 early in the fourth quarter when Watson leaped into the end zone at the end of a 6-yard scramble.Houston got a stop and Watson converted a fourth-and-19 with a pass to Hopkins on the next drive before his pass on fourth-and-3 was tipped three times and intercepted by Jackson to end any hope of a comeback.Watson added another touchdown run with 32 seconds left.Veteran cornerback Johnathan Joseph wasn't sure why the Texans played so poorly on Sunday, but knows they have to move on quickly if they hope to win the division."We didn't expect to get beat that way," he said. "Whatever it is, we've got to correct it quickly. We definitely have to watch this and get better from it." Deshaun Watson and the Houston Texans got their third straight win on Sunday. But it came with a price as the already-banged up quarterback took 19 more hits in the 20-13 victory over the Buffalo Bills.Watson was sacked seven times and took 12 other hits from the Bills. The second-year player, questionable this week with a chest injury, was slow to get up several times and didn't seem to be moving as well as he normally does.Houston coach Bill O'Brien was asked about the performance of the offensive line and what the group can do to improve."I don't know, I really don't," he said. "I think we've got to go back and figure it out ... it starts with me. So D.J. Reader Jersey White , we just have to keep grinding to figure it out, figure out how to get better."Watson brushed off questions about his health, saying he didn't "want to make any excuses," but his teammates acknowledged the injury and said it made them want to do more to help him."When you've got a guy that sacrifices everything when he's hurt, everybody around him better do the same thing, especially if it's your quarterback," defensive end Jadeveon Clowney said. "I think everybody put that on their shoulders this week and just tried to give it all up for him."Watson was 15 of 25 for 177 yards with a touchdown and two interceptions. He also lost a fumble. He's been sacked 25 times this season and taken 66 other hits behind a line that was supposed to be improved this year.O'Brien was certainly happy with the win, but knows his team must improve on offense if it hopes to compete with Jacksonville next week."We're not going to be able to be where we want to be unless we figure this thing out on offense," he said. "And figure out what we have to be to be able to run the ball http://www.thetexanslockerroom.com/authentic-nick-martin-jersey , throw the ball consistently."Some things to know about Houston's win over Buffalo.ALLEN'S HEALTHBuffalo rookie quarterback Josh Allen's status for next week is uncertain after he left Sunday's game with an elbow injury. Coach Sean McDermott said after the loss that the Bills were still evaluating Allen's injury and he didn't have any more details on it. Allen did not speak to the media.Allen was injured when Houston's Whitney Mercilus hit his right elbow with his helmet after Allen's pass.Allen threw for 84 yards and ran for 20 before being replaced by Nathan Peterman. Peterman threw for 61 yards with a touchdown and two interceptions, including one that was returned 28 yards by Johnathan Joseph for a touchdown that put the Texans on top with 1:23 remaining.Kareem Jackson intercepted him after that to seal Houston's win.HAIRY TACKLEHouston's Jadeveon Clowney dragged running back Chris Ivory down by one of his long dreadlocks for a 3-yard loss early in the fourth quarter. The cringe-worthy play made Ivory's head snap back as Clowney clutched his hair for the tackle."I was supposed to set that edge, but I took it inside," Clowney said. "And if I go inside coach said: 'You better make that tackle.' So, I was trying to do whatever it takes to make that tackle. I tried to reach out and grab for his jersey and I pulled him by the hair."Clowney said Ivory approached him after the play to ask him about it."He said: 'Come on man, why did you pull my hair?' and I said: 'Come on man, why you trying to run from me,'" Clowney said.Clowney, who also has long dreadlocks Andre Hal Jersey White , knows that being tackled like that had to hurt badly."I've been pulled by my hair a few times," he said. "They made it part of the uniform and if I can reach for him again I would."THE "OLD GUYSJoseph is 34 and Jackson is 30, leading the young players on Houston's defense to joke that the "old men" were the stars of Sunday's game."I'm cool with that," Jackson said. "They can call us old all they want as long as we're going out there and flying around."The two players are ranked first and second in career interceptions in franchise history.Joseph took the lead with his 15th interception with the Texans on his touchdown return on Sunday, but Jackson regained the franchise lead when he grabbed his 16th one less than a minute after that.__

Damon Harrison took the field Thursday for his new team http://www.lionslockerroom.com/authentic-teez-tabor-jersey , where he will be asked to help solve the defensive woes against the run for the Detroit Lions. The trade for the defensive tackle was announced Thursday by the teams. Detroit will send a draft pick to the New York Giants.Just as in New York, Harrison wore his No. 98 with the Lions on Thursday, practicing on the same field as he did during a joint Lions and Giants session in August. To make room for "Snacks" Harrison, the Lions released defensive tackle Sylvester Williams. Williams was acquired as a free agent this offseason and had six tackles in six games for Detroit. The 29-year-old Harrison spent the past three seasons with the Giants. He began his career with the Jets in 2012 after being undrafted out of William Penn. He was a 2016 All-Pro selection.Harrison joined the Giants as a free agent in 2016, signing a five-year Womens Taylor Decker Jersey , $46 million contract. The seven-year veteran never missed a game in his 2陆 years, starting 39 times. He had 31 tackles and a forced fumble this season. The Lions (3-3) host Seattle on Sunday. They have the 30th-ranked rush defense in the NFL, allowing 139.3 yards per game. The defensive line has been without end Ziggy Ansah for all but the opener.Harrison will be reunited with two New York defensive teammates from last season, defensive end Romeo Okwara and linebacker Devon Kennard. This is the Giants' second trade this week. They sent cornerback Eli Apple, a 2016 first-round selection Taylor Decker Jersey White , to New Orleans for two picks on Tuesday. The Giants (1-6), who have four wins in their past 23 regular-season games, host Washington on Sunday.New York also waived offensive tackle Ereck Flowers, its 2015 first-round pick, on Oct. 9. The question first was asked after the season-opening loss to the Panthers when the Cowboys had only 232 yards and scored eight points. It was asked again Monday Quandre Diggs Jersey White , a day after the Cowboys gained 303 yards in a 24-13 loss to the Seahawks.Jason Garrett’s answer remains the same: Offensive coordinator Scott Linehan will continue to call the plays for the Cowboys. “We’re not going to go down that road,” Garrett said, via Jon Machota of the Dallas Morning News. “I have a lot of confidence in Scott Linehan. He has been an outstanding coordinator in this league for a long time. He鈥檚 been an outstanding coordinator for us. He鈥檚 been an outstanding play-caller for us. What we need to do is get better on offense. We have to constantly look at ourselves as coaches first, about the positions we鈥檙e putting our players in with our game plan, and during the game we have to look at how we鈥檙e executing things — what we鈥檙e doing well — and build on those things and what we鈥檙e not doing well http://www.lionslockerroom.com/authentic-quandre-diggs-jersey , [we need to] address those things. Practice them better and carry them to the game. We just have to do it. We鈥檒l work very hard this week to do that. Try to instill that in our players and hopefully play better this week against Detroit.鈥?It’s true the Cowboys have plenty of blame to go around: Their quarterback has thrown for less than 200 yards in nine of the past 11 games; their running back lost a fumble and stepped out of bounds before catching a touchdown pass Sunday; their receivers and tight ends scare no one; and their offensive line isn’t coming close to living up to its reputation.鈥淲e haven鈥檛 played well enough on offense, so everybody has to look at it,” Garrett said. “I think it would be false for me to say this is about the play calling. This is about everything we鈥檙e doing offensively. We have to do better. We have to coach better; we’ve got to play better. We’ve got to run it better; we’ve got to throw it better. We’ve got to protect better. We have to do all the things that good offenses do. We have to do all those things better. We鈥檙e working hard to do that.鈥漇o Linehan will keep his job for now.Garrett called the plays in 2011 and 2012, his first two full seasons as head coach, before turning it over to Bill Callahan. Linehan has served as the team鈥檚 play-caller since he was hired in 2014.

MINNEAPOLIS (AP)Cincinnati Bengals coach Marvin Lewis is not ready to concede the end of his second-longest tenure in the league. ESPN reported Sunday before the game at Minnesota Womens Preston Brown Jersey , citing unnamed league sources, that the 59-year-old Lewis does not want to return to Cincinnati after his contract expires following a 15th season with the Bengals. Lewis steadfastly denied that in his postgame news conference after a 34-7 defeat by the Vikings , dismissing the story as recycled from the summer and irrelevant to the team’s second straight lackluster performance. ”It’s just speculation people keep throwing out there,” Lewis said. ”We’re all wasting time talking about it.” Only New England’s Bill Belichick, by three more years, has concurrently been with the same team longer than Lewis and the Bengals. ”I have not made any decisions about anything, I’ve told you how many times,” Lewis said. With an 0-7 record for Lewis in the playoffs, speculation swirled at the start of the season that this could be his final year in Cincinnati. The Bengals (5-9) will miss the postseason for a second straight time, having lost their last two games by a combined 67-14. ”To change would hurt, but guys have enough professionalism to know with a new coach coming in Womens Trey Hopkins Jersey , you pick up your jock straps, continue to practice and prove to the next coach that you can play,” wide receiver Brandon LaFell said. The Bengals were well aware of the report once they reached the stadium, but Lewis didn’t acknowledge it until after the game. His record with the Bengals fell to 123-119-3 including the playoffs. ”It didn’t affect us,” wide receiver A.J. Green said. ”We’re all professional here. We all get paid to do a job, no matter what happens.” After yet another grueling loss to bitter rival Pittsburgh on Dec. 4 made possible by a squandered two-touchdown halftime lead at home, the Bengals have played like they’ve given up despite the insistence of some players to the contrary. Even if Lewis is being truthful about a desire to return to the Bengals, he might not be offered a new deal at this point. The patience of long-time owner Mike Brown can only go so far with a franchise that has not won a postseason game since 1990, the longest active streak in the NFL and the sixth-longest in history. ”We’re 4-10. What do you think is going to happen at the end of the season?” defensive end Carlos Dunlap said, inadvertently discounting his team’s record by one game. ”We’ll see. We’ll figure it out.” As if there wasn’t enough to be frustrated about, Lewis and the Bengals also lost to Mike Zimmer Joe Mixon Jersey White , their former defensive coordinator. ”A lot of those players over there on defense were at one time my guys, so there was some emotions there,” said Zimmer, who was hired by the Vikings in 2014. ”You always want to do good against your former team, but like I said during I tried this week to see numbers and not faces.” Zimmer still maintains a rural retreat in northern Kentucky, his vacation home for those rare breaks from the NFL grind. Lewis visited Zimmer at the ranch during Minnesota’s bye week earlier this season, and Zimmer said Lewis didn’t mention any disinterest in leaving the Bengals. ”But if it is the case, Marvin is an unbelievable person, a great mentor, a great, great football coach Womens Darqueze Dennard Jersey ,” Zimmer said. ”I hope that’s not the case, because the NFL would be losing a great, great coach.” — With the season slipping away, the Bengals are turning back to Andy Dalton to try to get that elusive first win.Coach Zac Taylor announced Monday that Dalton was returning as the starting quarterback, ending a three-week experiment with rookie Ryan Finley running the offense. Finley completed only 47 percent of his passes and the offense failed to score more than 13 points in any game. The move came a day after a 16-10 loss to the Steelers in which Finley fumbled twice. The Bengals (0-11) are the NFL’s only winless team as they get ready to host the Jets (4-7), who have won three straight. The 11-game losing streak in one season is the longest in franchise history. Their best chance to avoid an 0-16 season is to go with an 11-year veteran quarterback instead of a rookie.“We just want to win, and that veteran presence he has will certainly be helpful through all the things we've experienced on offense,” Taylor said.Dalton wasn’t available after the decision was announced. When he was benched after an 0-8 start, he complained that the Bengals didn’t leave time before the trade deadline to explore a deal with a team that needed a starter.Taylor said there have been no residual hard feelings between them.“It was hard for him to hear when we made the change initially, but just being the person he is, he’s somebody that I was able to communicate with the last couple of weeks Womens Cordy Glenn Jersey ,” Taylor said. “He didn’t just turn a cold shoulder to me.”And so, the Finley experiment is finished. The Bengals set themselves up for more losses when they installed the fourth-round pick as the starter, saying they wanted to use the rest of the season to see how he fits into their long-term plans. Finley hadn’t played a snap in the regular season and hadn’t even practiced with the starting offense. It was clear the Bengals were on the path to a winless season.“Right now, we had to make this move,” Taylor said.WHAT'S WORKINGThe defense has been better the past two weeks, allowing only 17 and 16 points. The line has been more disruptive, and end Carlos Dunlap has started making an impact. Dunlap had six tackles, a sack, and one tackle for a loss against the Steelers. He also tipped a pass that was intercepted.WHAT NEEDS HELPThe offense is still a mess as Dalton returns. The Bengals have been held to 17 points or fewer in eight of the past nine games.“The whole unit has got to do a better job of helping any quarterback we’ve got out there,” Taylor said. “It’s a tough situation for any quarterback right now.”STOCK UPDalton gets to play the final games before heading into an uncertain offseason with one year left on his contract and the Bengals likely to draft a quarterback.STOCK DOWNFinley wanted to show he could be considered a starter in Cincinnati, but he struggled in a no-win situation. Finley threw a pick-6 and had five turnovers in his three games.INJUREDAlex Redmond tore the biceps in his left arm during pregame warmups Sunday and will have surgery http://www.thebengalslockerroom.com/authentic-malik-jefferson-jersey , ending his season.KEY NUMBERS3, 10, 30, 51 — The number of stadiums, head coaches, starting quarterbacks and seasons that the Bengals went through without losing 11 straight games in a season, until now.NEXT STEPSThe Bengals are two games worse than any other team in the league, leaving them in solid position for the first overall pick in the draft. Traded but not yet gone Jesse Davis Jersey , former Cardinals quarterback Josh Rosen had one more thing to do before packing up his stuff and moving to Florida. He appeared at Larry Fitzgerald‘s Celebrity Softball Game on Saturday. According to the , Rosen specifically stayed for that event.“I think that’s just a testament to who he is as a man,” Fitzgerald said. “He could have very easily gone down to Miami already, or just said, ‘Hey, I’m not gonna do it,’ but it shows you his commitment Kenny Stills Jersey , his character, and just friendship. I’m very fortunate to call him a friend. Looking forward to seeing him do great things in Miami.”Per the , Rosen received a standing ovation before winning the home run derby and ultimately being named MVP of the game. He also addressed the crowd.“I just want to say thank you to everybody,” Rosen said. “We didn’t win as many games as I would have hoped, but I had a great time and an unbelievable year. Sad to see it up, but new chapters, new beginnings Reshad Jones Jersey , and I’m excited for things to come. I’ll always be a Cardinal and root for you guys for as long as I’m on my feet.”“I don’t think anybody could have handled it more professionally than he has,” Fitzgerald said. “I mean he’s been a consummate professional throughout this whole process. And, you know, I think he’s got a lot of people’s respect for the way he conducted himself. And I know all of us are rooting for him in his next stop.”Plenty of other people will be rooting for Rosen, too. Despite the knocks he took prior to the 2018 draft for (God forbid) having opinions and being willing to share them, Rosen has handled himself admirably over the past few months. And, frankly Minkah Fitzpatrick Jersey , the Cardinals should have kept him. What if Kyler Murray isn’t as good as he’s expected to be? What if he gets injured? The Cardinals will wish they’d kept Rosen and the three years, $6.2 million remaining on his contract. It’s unclear why the Cardinals believed Murray and Rosen couldn’t coexist, for a year or maybe longer. Maybe the manner in which Rosen has handled himself shows that they could have. Jadeveon Clowney planned to report to work this week . . . until he learned the Texans planned to trade him. Now, the Texans pass rusher is ready to take his holdout into the regular season.Mike Garafolo of the NFL reports that Clowney is willing to miss regular-season games as he seeks a resolution to his contract situation. The Texans can’t trade Clowney until he signs the franchise tender, so Clowney will retain a say over his future by not reporting.“I know a lot of people are looking at this, saying is Jadeveon Clowney really going to punt on $1 million per week and sit out a game, two Mike Gesicki Jersey , three or whatever? Yeah, at least according to what he has told other people,” Garafolo said Wednesday.Clowney has met with the Dolphins already but reportedly would prefer the Seahawks or the Eagles. If the Texans intended to trade him, they should have done it during the offseason. They likely would have had more suitors and found better compensation.Because the July 15 deadline for a long-term deal has passed, Clowney cannot sign a long-term deal this season. If that weren’t complication enough, the Texans need Clowney’s blessing to complete a trade.

It’s never been easier to score in the NFL.At the midpoint of the season John Franklin-Myers Jersey , the league is on pace to set records for most points, touchdowns and touchdown passes in a single season. Teams have scored 6,440 points, 736 touchdowns and 473 TDs in the air through Week 9.The increase in offensive production follows the lowest-scoring season this decade. Teams averaged 21.7 points per game in 2017. That’s up to 24 points this season. A total of 12 teams are averaging at least 27.5 points per game led by the Chiefs (36.3), Saints (34.9) and Rams (33.2).There are several reasons scoring has soared. A combination of new rules and rule adjustments over the past few years favor offenses. The league has banned helmet-to-helmet contact, implemented a defenseless receiver rule and a body-weight rule against players making sacks, outlawed low hits on quarterbacks and emphasized illegal contact penalties. There’s also been an influx of innovative, offensive-minded coaches — Sean McVay, Doug Pederson, Kyle Shanahan — and talented young quarterbacks — Patrick Mahomes, Carson Wentz Brian Allen Jersey , Jared Goff, among others.Five quarterbacks — Mahomes, Goff, Matt Ryan, Ben Roethlisberger and Aaron Rodgers — are on pace to throw for 5,000 yards. That only happened nine times previously in league history. Ten QBs have a passer rating over 100, double the total last season.Games are not only featuring more scoring but there’s been plenty of close, down-to-the-wire action. Seventy-one games were decided by one score, eight points or less. That’s the fifth-most through nine weeks. Thirty-seven games have been decided by a field goal, which was fourth-most at this point. Ten games have reached overtime and 36 teams have rallied to win or tie after trailing in the fourth quarter or overtime.Close, high-scoring games are exciting for fans Joseph Noteboom Jersey , especially the millions who spend billions of dollars to play fantasy football. All of it is good for the league’s television ratings, which are up after declining in 2016 and 2017.More folks are also watching by live streaming. According to a recent study from Conviva, a real-time measurement platform, NFL live viewing was up 72 percent in plays and 83 percent in viewing hours over the same time frame last year.Conviva’s data shows mobile NFL plays were up 95 percent and prime-time NFL saw 109 percent growth in plays and 97 percent growth in viewing hours. Here’s a look inside the numbers from the first half:PASSING KING: Drew Brees broke Peyton Manning’s record for career passing yards last month. Brees has 72,781 yards passing and counting. Manning had 71,940.KICKING KING: Adam Vinatieri broke Morten Anderson’s record for most points and most field goals. Vinatieri has 2,550 points and 573 field goals. Anderson had 2,544 points and 565 field goals.THE 500 CLUB: Brees and Tom Brady joined Manning and Brett Favre as the only players to throw 500 TD passes. Brees has 506, one more than Brady. Manning had 539 and Favre had 508.PATRICK THE GREAT: Mahomes has 29 TD passes and 3,185 yards passing yards, the most in both categories through the first 10 games of a player’s career. He also has thrown for at least 300 yards in eight straight games Jack Youngblood Jersey , one away from setting the record he currently shares with Andrew Luck.THIELEN’S CHASE: Adam Thielen became the first player to have eight 100-yard receiving games to start a season, tying Calvin Johnson for the longest streak of such games. The former undrafted wide receiver has 78 catches for the Vikings. He’s on pace to challenge Marvin Harrison’s single-season record of 143.GURLEY GETS IN: Todd Gurley has 16 touchdowns — 12 rushing and four receiving — for the Rams. He’s on pace for 28. The record is 31 by Hall of Famer LaDainian Tomlinson.KIRK COMPLETIONS: Kirk Cousins became the first player to complete at least 30 passes in four consecutive games. Before the season, Cousins became the first player to sign a fully guaranteed contract when the Vikings gave him $84 million for three seasons.FIRST MISS: Justin Tucker had made all 222 extra points in his career before he missed one at the end of Baltimore’s 24-23 loss to New Orleans in Week 7. He hadn’t missed any kick 33 yards or shorter in 300 tries his career. With a second straight division title in hand, Jared Goff and the Los Angeles Rams would love to grab a few more prizes.Another one is there for the taking. The NFC West champion Rams look to clinch a first-round playoff bye when they visit the NFC North-leading Chicago Bears in a prime-time matchup Sunday.“You obviously want to win as many games as you can,” Goff said. “But if you do, it will lead to those types of rewards, and the first one we’ve done is win the division. Hopefully we can win a few more now or however many it takes to get the first-round bye and hopefully work toward the first seed.”The Rams (11-1) clinched their second straight division championship and became the first team to secure a playoff spot with their 30-16 victory at Detroit last week. It’s quite an accomplishment for a franchise that endured 13 seasons without a winning record after capturing the NFC West in 2003.It’s the first division repeat for the Rams since a run of seven straight first-place finishes ended in 1979. And besides securing a first-round bye on Sunday, Los Angeles has a chance to move closer to home-field advantage throughout the NFC playoffs, with a one-game lead over New Orleans, which has beaten the Rams.Chicago (8-4) won five straight prior to a wild overtime loss at the New York Giants last week. The Bears wiped out a 10-point deficit in the final 1:13 of regulation, only to lose when Janoris Jenkins knocked away a deep pass by Chase Daniel after Aldrick Rosas kicked a 44-yard field goal.Daniels likely won’t be at quarterback this week. Mitchell Trubisky expects to return after missing the past two games because of a right shoulder injury. Here are some things to know as the Rams and Bears get ready to meet:ROADMAPSThe two teams appear to be following similar paths Torry Holt Jersey , with prized quarterbacks and big leaps under offense-minded coaches. The Rams drafted Goff with the No. 1 overall pick in 2016, hired coach Sean McVay to get the most out of him prior to last season, and took off from there, winning the division out of nowhere.Chicago drafted Trubisky with the second overall pick in 2017 and hired Matt Nagy prior to this season to get the most out of the prized QB. Though the Bears expected to be better after four straight last-place finishes, a rather commanding division lead seemed like a stretch.Trubisky has taken some big strides after a shaky rookie season — like Goff, who made the Pro Bowl last year. And a prime-time win over the team with the best record in the NFL wouldn’t hurt his stock.“We know we have a great opponent coming in this weekend. … And I’m just eager and excited to get back out there with my guys and play the game,” Trubisky said.RUNNING RAMSTodd Gurley is already the NFL’s leading rusher and its top-scoring non-kicker with 19 touchdowns, but the Rams might need to rely on their superstar running back even more than usual. His backup, Malcolm Brown, is out for the season after injuring his collarbone last week. Depth running backs Justin Davis and John Kelly have little regular-season experience, but both seem confident in their ability to contribute — and Kelly is a Detroit native who won’t mind the cold Chicago weather.EXPECTED BACKTrubisky hasn’t played since a win over Minnesota on Nov. 18. He was hurt sliding in the closing minutes Orlando Pace Jersey , when the Vikings’ Harrison Smith hit him on the left side. That resulted in his right shoulder getting driven into the ground.Assuming he starts Sunday, Trubisky will have to contend with Aaron Donald, who leads the league with 16 1/2 sacks.“You look at (Donald) and you wonder how he can weigh as much as he weighs (280 pounds) and be as quick as he is,” Nagy said. “He’s really extremely quick. He’s savvy in regards to the different types of moves that he has. He’s got power.”THROW IT OUTGoff is coming off one of his least impressive games in a standout season. He went 17 of 33 for just 207 yards and one touchdown at Detroit. Goff also threw an interception and was sacked twice. He’s facing a daunting task going against Khalil Mack and a defense with a league-leading 21 interceptions. “We’ve got to be ready to go,” McVay said. “This is one of the best defenses in the league and you see it show up on the tape.”RUN DOWNThough the Bears rank second against the run, they’ve had trouble stopping it the past two games.New York’s Saquon Barkley carried 24 times for 125 yards. And in a Thanksgiving victory at Detroit, Chicago gave up 85 yards rushing in the second half.

KANSAS CITY http://www.chiefslockerroom.com/authentic-eric-murray-jersey , Mo. — Tyreek Hill has been cleared to report to Chiefs training camp next week after the NFL said Friday it would not suspend the star wide receiver under its personal conduct policy after a domestic violence case involving his 3-year-old son.The league spent eight hours interviewing Hill late last month about the case, which came to light after a recording of Hill and his fiancee, Crystal Espinal, aired on television station KCTV5.During the conversation, Espinal accused Hill of hurting their son. Police launched an investigation into potential child abuse, but the Johnson County, Kansas, district attorney announced he could not charge Hill because it was not clear how the boy had sustained his injuries.“Based on the evidence presently available, the NFL cannot conclude that Mr. Hill violated the Personal Conduct Policy,” the NFL said in a statement. “He may attend Kansas City‘s training camp and participate in all club activities. He has been and will continue to be subject to conditions set forth by the District Court, Commissioner (Roger) Goodell, and the Chiefs, which include clinical evaluation and therapeutic intervention.”The Chiefs report to training camp at Missouri Western State University in St. Joseph, Missouri, next week. Their first full-squad workout is scheduled for July 27.“Based on the information provided to us by the league, we have decided it is appropriate for Tyreek to return to the team at the start of training camp,” the Chiefs said in a statement. “The club fully supports the conditions for return laid out by the league and will continue to monitor any new developments in the case. We are glad to welcome Tyreek back to the team.”Hill issued a statement later Friday in which he thanked the Chiefs, including team owner Clark Hunt and coach Andy Reid, along with their fans for sticking by him through the investigation.“The last few months have been very difficult for me, especially as a father,” he said. “The false allegations originally reported in March were highly publicized and involved the care of my son. I am grateful for so many things and grateful for so many people who have supported me during this challenging time. I fully respect and accept the NFL’s decision.”The criminal investigation into Hill began in March Womens Dustin Colquitt Jersey , when police were called to his home twice and determined that his son had broken his arm. But it became public knowledge when KCTV5 aired an 11-minute recording made by Espinal in an airport in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, in which she tells Hill that when the boy was asked about his injured arm, he replied: “Daddy did it.”Hill denied any role in what happened to the child, saying: “He says Daddy does a lot of things.” And when Espinal says their son is “terrified of you,” Hill replies: “You need to be terrified of me, too.”The audio, allegations of abuse and subsequent investigation were enough for the Chiefs to announce in the midst of the NFL draft in April that they were suspending Hill from all team activities. Hill did not participate in any voluntary summer workouts or the team’s mandatory minicamp. At the time, Chiefs owner Clark Hunt said he was “deeply disturbed” by the audio recording. The case took another turn earlier this month, when Kansas City radio station 610 KCSP aired the full audio of the argument from the Dubai airport. Hill not only denied hurting his son, he also denied hurting Espinal in 2015, when he pleaded guilty to a domestic assault and battery charge.Hill told Espinal that she “ruined” his life with those allegations. He was dismissed from the team at Oklahoma State and ended up at West Alabama, where he underwent counseling and court-mandated service work. He also played for the football team, and the Chiefs ultimately decided to take a chance on him by selecting the speedster in the fifth round of the 2016 draft.Hill had stayed out of trouble since arriving in Kansas City, becoming not only one of the best wide receivers in the league but one of the most popular players on the team.Last season, he shattered a series of franchise receiving records by catching 87 passes for 1,479 yards and 12 touchdowns. Hill’s connection with young star quarterback Patrick Mahomes was a big reason why Kansas City won its third AFC West title and advanced to the conference championship game, where it took the eventual Super Bowl champion New England Patriots to overtime.Hill, who is also one of the most dynamic return men in football, was voted to his third consecutive Pro Bowl and voted first-team All-Pro. He also was in line for a big contract extension, though those talks were shelved as the Chiefs and the NFL considered his off-the-field situation. INDIANAPOLIS 鈥?The Indianapolis Colts kept insisting Andrew Luck would play better after shoulder surgery. He did.Frank Reich acknowledged some of his best work came in a backup role.Apparently Steven Nelson Jersey , it still does.A healthy Luck and an opportunistic first-year coach led the Colts on a historic midseason turnaround, ending with a playoff run and a glimpse into a potentially promising future.“We left our hearts on the field every game,” Luck said Sunday, a day after a 31-13 elimination loss at Kansas City. “I know we all wished we played better yesterday. It’s sad. We wanted this somewhat magical season to continue and we’ll use that to motivate us.”That could be bad news for a team that seemed to defy the odds at every turn. Most figured the Colts hit rock bottom when Josh McDaniels backed out of a deal to become the Colts’ new coach while Luck continued to rehab his throwing shoulder in early February. General manager Chris Ballard wasted no time in making Reich, the offensive coordinator for the Super Bowl champion Eagles, his second choice. The odd sequence included Reich inheriting a defensive coordinator in Matt Eberflus, whom he didn’t know much about and who was already plotting a conversion from a 3-4 front to a 4-3. Reich followed the advice of Ballard by keeping him in the same role and adding two more first-year coordinators to his staff. To outsiders, it looked like a complete rebuild. But the Colts never bought into the perception and delivered the kind of season nobody thought possible when they lost their fourth in a row in mid-October.That’s when things changed.Luck rounded into form, the Colts developed a balanced attack, their revamped offensive line became a virtual fortress and the oft-criticized defense suddenly emerged as one of the league’s stingiest units. The Colts (11-7) won nine of their last 10 regular-season games to become the third team in league history to make the postseason after starting 1-5, followed by a wild-card win at Houston.“You wonder as a first-time head coach, what is this really going to be like? I just couldn’t have imagined in my wildest dreams how this year was,” Reich said. “The guys in this building, the guys in that locker room, the coaches and players, they just exceeded any of my wildest expectations.”Everyone else’s, too.Luck had the best overall season of his career, throwing for nearly 4,600 yards and 39 touchdowns while setting career highs in completions, attempts and percentage. He was sacked a league-low 18 times, one season after the Colts allowed a league-high 56 sacks.Meanwhile http://www.chiefslockerroom.com/authentic-laurent-duvernay-tardif-jersey , Marlon Mack fought off injuries to finish with five 100-yard games 鈥?the most by a Colts running back in more than a decade.Eric Ebron finally delivered on the first-round promise the Detroit Lions saw in 2014 by catching 13 touchdowns to lead the league’s tight ends and earning his first Pro Bowl selection.“It was a helluva time, a helluva season,” center Ryan Kelly said. “Guys were fighting for each other and it was just a good time.”But Reich’s favorite might have been watching the rookies develop.Quenton Nelson and Braden Smith were rock solid at left guard and right tackle, and linebacker Darius Leonard led the league in tackles with a franchise-record 163. Nelson and Leonard became the first rookie teammates to earn first-team All-Pro honors since Dick Butkus and Gale Sayers achieved the feat in 1965.Now, with Luck heading into his first healthy offseason in four years, a veteran coach and proven players, Reich knows the expectations will increase next season. He promises to be ready.“We had an opportunity to learn so many lessons this year,” he said. “We lost four or five and then won 10 or 11. So we’ve had a taste of that. I think handling success and high expectations is always more difficult, but I believe in the guys, the players, the leaders to get that done.”NOTES: Kelly wouldn’t rule out having surgery on his injured left knee but described the procedure as minor. … Pro Bowl tight end Jack Doyle said he spent two days in the hospital after suffering a season-ending kidney injury in late-November. Doyle told reporters he was feeling “pretty good,” though he’s still recovering. … Kicker Adam Vinatieri hopes to return for his 24th season after missing the shortest field goal of his career Saturday. He broke the NFL’s career scoring record this season and now has 2,600 points. … Indy signed tight end Billy Brown, cornerback Jalen Collins, offensive linemen Antonio Garcia and De’Ondre Wesley, receivers Krishawn Hogan and Steve Ishmael, quarterback Phillip Walker and defensive linemen DeShawn Williams and Anthony Winbush to futures contracts Sunday.100View Gallery Gallery:View from the sidelines: NFL cheerleaders 2018Raj Mehta-USA TODAY Sports | Raj Mehta

The NFL’s statement regarding the decision to not discipline receiver Tyreek Hill said nothing about the troubling remark that sparked Hill’s banishment from the balance of the Chiefs’ offseason workout program.“You need to be terrified of me too Reggie Ragland Jersey , bitch,” Hill said to Crystal Espinal during an argument regarding whether Hill’s young son respects Hill or is terrified of him.PFT asked the league for an explanation regarding the decision not to discipline Hill despite this comment, which was made by Hill to the same woman he admittedly assaulted while she was pregnant, in 2014.“That audio tape was reviewed as part of the overall investigation, which also included speaking to multiple people, including family members on both sides and Tyreek Hill,” NFL spokesman Brian McCarthy wrote in an email to PFT. “In addition, other information was gathered over the last four months.“When viewed in the context of the full 11-minute, 27-second audio recording and all other information gathered, the statement did not rise to a level of warranting discipline under the personal conduct policy.”That’s the most surprising aspect of the NFL’s decision. While the evidence regarding allegations of child abuse or child endangerment, if any http://www.chiefslockerroom.com/authentic-spencer-ware-jersey , apparently was inconclusive at best, the threat made by Hill to Espinal was documented, and Hill’s own lawyer admitted that Hill said what he said. Indeed, Hill’s lawyer called the comment “unacceptable” and “inexcusable, of course” in a letter sent to the NFL in early May.The NFL ultimately decided that, for the purposes of the Personal Conduct Policy’s clear prohibition on “[a]ctual or threatened physical violence,” the comment was acceptable and excusable, and that it ultimately nothing that would require even a fine of Tyreek Hill. After the Jaguars made an unexpected appearance in the 2017 AFC Championship, they had a decision to make regarding quarterback Blake Bortles, who was entering the fifth and final year of his rookie deal. They made the wrong decision. The Jaguars converted the balance of the contract to a three-year arrangement that paid out $26.5 million guaranteed, and then the Jaguars finally decided after one more year that Bortles isn’t the answer. Fueling the decision was the availbility of Nick Foles Womens Carlos Hyde Jersey , the Super Bowl LII MVP who came relatively cheap ($22 million per year), thanks to lingering doubts about his abilities — doubts that surely will serve only to fuel Foles for 2019, and beyond.Yes, Foles struggled with the Rams. His time with the Chiefs, while underrated, wasn’t spectacular. But forget about the distant past. More recently, he has proven that, in the right system and with the right support and the right coaching, he can be the right man for the job. By reuniting him with former Eagles quarterbacks coach John DeFilippo, Foles should be in good hands, and the Jaguars should be in a great spot.Foles carries with him a vastly underrated set of intangibles. He can lead. He can inspire. He can connect. He can hold teammates accountable because he makes himself accountable.Bortles Demarcus Robinson Jersey , frankly, never really clicked, but the Jaguars (until Foles was available) never really had a better option (other than passing on Patrick Mahomes and Deshaun Watson for Leonard Fournette, that is). Too many teammates resented the double standard that the team appied to Bortles, demanding excellence from them but looking the other way regarding the obvious deficiencies at the most important position on either side of the ball. With Foles, the most important position on either side of the ball is taken care of. With plenty of other talented players, the Jaguars could threaten to recapture the division, and they could shake up the upper crust of the conference. However it plays out, they’ll be better off than they were with Bortles.

Most NFL starters aren’t playing tonight. Many NFL second-teamers also are sitting out.The Patriots Youth James White Jerseys , though, have receivers Josh Gordon, Julian Edelman and Demaryius Thomas on the field with Jarrett Stidham. All three made catches on the Patriots’ first possession against the Giants’ backups.Edelman caught one pass for 20 yards; Gordon made one catch for 19 yards; and Thomas made a catch for 7 yards. Stidham went 3-for-7 for 46 years, leading the Patriots to a field goal on their first possession. It marked the first preseason action for Gordon, Edelman and Thomas.Edelman was activated from the team’s non-football injury list 10 days ago, the day after Gordon’s league reinstatement became official. The Patriots activated Thomas from the physically unable to perform list nine days ago after he worked his way back from a torn Achilles that prematurely ended his 2018 season while he was with the Texans. A look back at some of the trades that have made the Patriots so great."Bill Belichick has long been considered one of the best drafters in the NFL. One of the reasons he has been so successful is his willingness to trade picks — he views them as assets, and will take a player if he thinks the value is good, otherwise, he won’t hesitate to move back, never fearing the players they might miss out on. The draft is simply part of his plan, which is, and always will be, to make the team better. Belichick has made at least one trade in every draft since 2001. Let’s take a look back at some of his most successful draft weekend trades. It’s important to note that this list will only include deals made during the draft, so trades like the ones for Aqib Talib and Josh Gordon are not included. 2001 DraftTraded: Picks #39 and #173Received: Matt Light and pick #112One of Belichick’s first draft day trades with the Patriots turned out to be a great one. Technically, it took two trades to get Matt Light, but you get the point. Belichick traded #39 to Pittsburg for #50 and #112. Then, while Light was on the phone with the Jets, who were drafting at #49, Belichick packaged #50 and #173 to move up to draft Light 48th overall. Not only did he draft an excellent left tackle, and eventual Patriots Hall of Famer, but he got to screw over the Jets while doing it. It doesn’t get much better than that. 2003 DraftTraded: Drew Bledsoe, Tebucky Jones, Picks #19, #75, and #193Received: Ty Warren, Eugene Wilson, Dan Klecko, Vince Wilfork, Tully Banta-Cain, and Corey DillonTwo first round trades here. Also, I know I just told you I wasn’t including non-Draft weekend trades James White Jerseys Stitched , and here I am talking about Drew Bledsoe and Tebucky Jones. The reason why is because they acquired #14 from the Bills for him and they used that pick, along with #193 to move up to #13 and take Ty Warren. Then, they traded their other first rounder (#19) to Baltimore for #41 and a 2004 first round pick. They then packaged #41 with #75 to move up and take Eugene Wilson, and acquired Dan Klecko in the process. With the 2004 pick, they took Big Vince Wilfork. You’re talking about two players that were huge on the defensive line for the Pats, and Wilson played a good chunk of snaps at safety as well. They also traded Tebucky Jones to the Saints for #78, #238, and a 2004 fourth rounder. They then traded #78, a third round pick, to Miami for a 2004 second rounder (#56), which they sent to Cincinnati in exchange for Corey Dillon, who only went on to set the record for rushing yards in a season by a Patriot. They also selected Tully Banta-Cain with #238, and he was an important edge rusher and special teamer for years. 2007 DraftTraded: Pick #28Received: Randy Moss and Jerod MayoThe Patriots dealt #28 to San Francisco in exchange for a fourth round pick (#110) and a 2008 first rounder. They then traded #110 to Oakland for a receiver by the name of Randy Moss, ever heard of him? The first round pick in 2008? Just a former team captain, and current assistant coach, Jerod Mayo. Probably the best trade in Patriots history, and other than the Herschel Walker deal maybe among the better ones in NFL history. 2009 Draft Traded: Picks #23 (and #26)Received: Julien Edelman, Rob Gronkowski, Darius Butler, Brandon TateThe Patriots traded back in the first round twice. The second one being the infamous Clay Matthews deal that Felger and Mazz have probably brought up 57 times this week. They get back a second round pick and two third round selections. After taking Darius Butler and before drafting Brandon Tate with #83, the Patriots traded #73 to Jacksonville for a seventh rounder (#232) and a 2010 second rounder. At #232 the Patriots selected a quarterback-turned-wideout, Julien Edelman, and in 2010, they packaged the second rounder with a sixth round selection to move up to take future Hall of Famer Rob Gronkowski. Isn’t it interesting how Felger and Mazz never mention that the Clay Matthews trade ended up getting the Patriots two of their best offensive weapons for the past 10 years?2011 DraftTraded: Picks #28, #60, and #93 (2012)Received: Shane Vereen, Stevan Ridley, Marcus Cannon, and Chandler JonesThe combination of two trades in the 2011 draft and one trade in 2012. The first, they traded back with the Saints: trading #28 for a second rounder (#56), which New England used to draft Shane Vereen http://www.patriotslockerroom.com/authentic-josh-gordon-jersey , and a 2012 first rounder. The next year, they would package that first (#27) along with a third (#93) to make a trade with Cincinnati for #21, where they took Chandler Jones. Going back to 2011, they traded down in the second (#60) with Houston for third and fifth round picks. Those picks turned into Stevan Ridley and Marcus Cannon. Maybe not sensational players, but Ridley was certainly serviceable for a few years, and Cannon has been a valuable part of the offensive line since Dante Scarnecchia came out of retirement in 2016. 2012 DraftTraded: Picks #31 and #126Received: Dont’a HightowerI already mentioned the Chandler Jones trade, and here’s the other deal the Patriots made in the first round that year. In case you didn’t already know, when they target someone, they aren’t afraid to go after them. They knocked their evaluations out of the park in 2012, taking Jones, who, although things didn’t work out here in the long term, is considered an elite pass rusher, as well as Dont’a Hightower, who is the leader on the Patriots defense, and has consistently been the best defender on the field in the most important games for the club. Think of just the big plays he made: the strip sack in Super Bowl 51 and the tackle in Super Bowl 49 — and those are just the tip of the iceberg. 2013 DraftTraded: Pick #29Received: Jamie Collins, Logan Ryan, LeGarrette BlountOnce again, the Patriots traded out of the first round. This time with the Vikings, who were trading up to draft Cordarrelle Patterson — who eventually ended up in New England anyway last year. In exchange, the Patriots got second, third, fourth, and seventh round picks. They selected Jamie Collins with the second rounder, took Logan Ryan in the third, and then traded the seventh to Tampa Bay for LeGarrette Blount. That’s one heck of a haul for a kick returner. 2016 DraftTraded: Chandler JonesReceived: Joe Thuney and Malcolm MitchellAgain, another offseason trade that resulted in a draft pick, and the second time Chandler Jones appears on this list. The Patriots traded Jones to the Cardinals for pick #61, which they then traded to New Orleans for a third and fourth. The third was used to draft Thuney, and they took Mitchell with the fourth. Thuney has been a solid contributor for the Patriots and was part of a fantastic offensive line this past season. Mitchell only played his rookie season season, but New England doesn’t win Super Bowl 51 without him. 2018 DraftTraded: Picks #51 and #95Received: Trent Brown Antonio Garcia Jersey , Ja’Whaun Bentley, 2019 second round pick (#56), 2019 third round pick (#73)Last year’s draft was a great example of the Patriots willingness to make a seemingly unlimited amount of moves to maximize the value of their assets. First, Jimmy Garoppolo got traded mid-year, and they get a second round pick (#43) back from San Francisco. They then traded #43 to Detroit for #51 and a fourth. Then they traded back again, this time with Chicago for a 2019 second and fourth (#105). At #105, they traded down again, this time with Cleveland for #114 and #178 (Christian Sam). Then, they traded #114 to Detroit (again) for a 2019 third rounder. Oh, and by the way, they packaged the other fourth with their own second to trade up for Duke Dawson. I needed to start another paragraph to marvel at the fact that all of that started with ONE SINGLE DRAFT PICK!Okay, now onto the Brown trade. They sent #95 to San Francisco for Trent Brown and a fifth (#143), where they drafted Bentley. Brown was fantastic at left tackle for the Patriots last year, and just became the highest paid offensive lineman in NFL history. Bentley looked like a promising young linebacker before he was hurt last season, and should push for a starting role this season as well. The next time you’re wondering how the Patriots have been so good for so long, remember what Bill Belichick does on draft day, and the offseason in general. Remember, this article doesn’t include any players they acquired any time other than the draft like Michael Bennett this year. It also doesn’t include the Logan Mankins deal, which got them the pick where they selected Trey Flowers. Now, they haven’t all been winners. Belichick traded up for Chad Jackson. He gave up a third and fourth rounder to trade up for the late Ron Brace. He also traded out instead of drafting Demaryius Thomas and Dez Bryant (I agree with those, but you may not). But, as you can see by my expansive list, his plan has worked more often than not.So, as you watch the draft this weekend, remember, even if you don’t love what they’re doing, it’s all a part of Belichick’s master plan. If you can’t trust that by now, you haven’t been paying attention. Pat is a host of The Patriot Nation PodcastInteract with him on Twitter @plane_pats

The first Raiders players will arrive in at the Napa Valley Marriott on July 23. Those first arrivals are rookies, select first year players, and quarterbacks. They will have a three-day training camp warm-up before rest of the team arrives on July 26.The QBs especially enjoy the warmup days. Since they began doing it, there is a noticeable difference in their play come the start of camp. No rust. And the young players enjoy the extra attention to get up to speed. There will be no media access to the rookie camp. Up until last year, report day was open to the media where we could get interviews with select players as they arrive for camp. There was no access last year, but perhaps it will be return this year, who knows. The first day the entire team takes the field together will be July 27. Pads will come on for the third day of camp on July 29. The Rams join them on August 7-8 leading up to their first preseason game on August 10.Follow @LeviDamien Raiders News Raiders C Hudson Gives Line Stability and Strong Leadership - Full Press CoverageAs mentioned, the Oakland Raiders enjoy a center that routinely defeats opponents Regardless of..."Raiders News Raiders C Hudson Gives Line Stability and Strong Leadership - Full Press CoverageAs mentioned, the Oakland Raiders enjoy a center that routinely defeats opponents Regardless of circumstance, the Raiders need to retain Rodney Hudson.Antonio Brown and Vontaze Burfict Womens Antonio Brown Jersey , teammates on Raiders and Family Feud – ProFootballTalkRaiders coach Jon Gruden loves the energy Antonio Brown brings to his team.
